Rules & Guidelines

Post by Reyn on Wed Oct 06, 2010 2:28 pm

Coterie is primarily an Abyssea event shell, with random outside ambitions. During a typical week we run two Abyssea-NM runs and one AF3/pop item farming event, though sometimes we may venture out of our shell to take a crack at events such as Walk of Echoes. We seek to cater to those who want to accomplish some endgame events but can't devote their entire week to in-game events.

Despite our forrays, Abyssea is our true passion. The following are some rules and guidelines for Abyssea specific events.

Schedule

Tuesday Night | 7:00 PM CT
Thursday Night | 7:00 PM CT
Saturday Night | 6:00 PM CT

Gather in Port Jeuno at the specified time for job selection. Be on time. There are only 18 spots in alliance, and they're going to go to the first people ready to go.

Attendance

We understand that three nights of the same event a week can be pretty demanding, especially with the limitation behind stone generation, and we always support prioritizing real life over the game. However, you must be able to regularly attend the full extent of one of our NM nights - Tuesday or Thursday - and in general two events a week in order for your application to be considered.

What to Prepare

We enter for both events with a minimum of three stones, but we may use more. If you do not have a sufficient supply of stones, please wait for our next event. Unfortunately, we can't rely on time extensions to transform your two stones into four. Nothing hurts an event more than a crucial job timing out early.

Bring food suitable for your job. Echo Drops for mages, Sneak/Invis pots, powders or tools. Reraise items are helpful in saving time but not required. Bring your own form of warp. We will not rearrange the entire alliance so that a BLM can give you a D2. Be prepared.

You must be level 75 to enter Tahrongi/La Theine/Konschtat, level 80 to enter Attohwa/Misareaux/Vunkerl, and level 85 to enter Grauberg/Uleguerand/Altepa unless told otherwise.

See to it in your personal time that you unlock relevant (if not all) Confluxes in all zones. Nothing kills time like going the long way, and we will require you to have your Confluxes ready for most events.

Points, Lotting, and Gear

NM targets are decided based on wish list popularity, and availability of pop items. Pop items from chests are collected by sackholders for the Linkshell, and any others that drop from mobs are up for free lot. If you have a pop item or set, please let us know. Members will be called upon to lot gear based upon A) Wishlists, B) Highest points. If there is a tie between points, all members who are tied may lot upon the item. It is essential that members keep their wish lists up to date if they expect to be lotting. If the drop is not found on the wishlist, it's going open lot. Points are still deducted in an open lot situation.

You may earn a base of 4 points per event: 2 points for arriving on time, and 2 points for staying through until the run is declared finished. These base points are halved if you arrive late but before we enter the zone, or leave early but close to the time we call the run. Additional points may be earned in the way of pop items:

    - 1 point per tradeable pop item we use obtained from a previous run or farmed on your own.
    - 1 point for providing us with a key item pop not obtainable by chests to build a set on (if you look at our popset sheets, it's easy to identify which key items these are).
    - 3 points maximum for providing us with a full key item popset completed on your own.
    - 2 points for a T2 VNM abyssite.
    - 3 points for a T3 VNM abyssite.

Under no circumstances do we do "Your Pop, Your Drop", but - as you can see - we reward our members who dedicate some off-time for the LSes benefit. The point ladder can easily be climbed in a relatively short amount of time with a bit of effort.

For key item triggers in the pop chain and T3 VNMs we will reward up to 2 additional people points for assisting in attaining the key item during LS off hours for a maximum of 3.

The higher tier the NM, the more points you'll need for it's drop:

    Tier 1 NMs: 4 Points
    Tier 2 NMs: 6 Points
    Tier 3 NMs: 8 Points
    Tier 4 NMs: 10 Points
Roaming NM in Visions areas: 5 points

For more details on NM tiers, we have a spreadsheet that details each zone's NM and what point tier we consider it to fall under. These tiers are decided primarily on NM availability - position in pop set tree, and respawn time.

In addition, Magian items, and AF3 +1 upgrade items cost 2 points, while AF3 +2 upgrades cost 4 points regardless of the tier NM.

Dual-boxing players will receive one separate point set for their mules, and a separate wishlist for said mules. Mules may only wishlist items they can use on their job, and only one character per player may lot on a drop pool unless specified otherwise. Alt-characters may not prioritize seals, and they may not partake in a bid war against another player's main for a priority. An unattending alt may only be swapped in to lot if they are the sole priority wishlister for that item unless specified otherwise by a sack.

Priority 5

Members have the opportunity to bypass the point system (to an extent) for drops they're particularly coveting. Up to five items may be listed as a priority on your wishlist. If the item should drop, those who have the item prioritized have lotting rights over those that don't.

In the event of multiple members prioritizing the drop, they may each bid an amount of points they would like to spend on the piece (minimum bid being base point cost for the drop) in a private /tell to a predetermined sackholder. The winning bid receives the drop. This applies to any item but seals or +2 items, which we do not lot war over in the interest of points - they still go to the member with highest points in the priority list.

Once you've attained an item from your priority list, you may not replace it with another until you've attended three more events. In addition, items on your priority list cannot be changed once put there until obtained or otherwise removed from your wishlist entirely. If you choose to remove a Priority item from your wishlist, you are put on a 3 run cool down before you may replace that slot. Due to the hogging that can occur with seal priorities, you are also placed on a cooldown regardless of if you obtained/finished your seals with the LS or without.

Upgrade items for AF3+2 are automatically prioritized for members who have completed their +1 item in addition to their Priority 5 list, as long as it's made a note of in the member's wishlist.

Chests & Chest Loot

For farming runs, one to two people will be appointed as chest openers. Chest openers may come on the job of their choice, level 30+. The only thing expected of these two people is to open chests and to have a stack of keys on them at all times. Loot is to be distributed to treasure pool and will free fall. Scrolls may be lotted by anyone who can use them if they have the job at 75+.

Pop items are retained by the Linkshell unless we already own them, after which they are free lot to anyone who needs them. Empyrean Feet pieces cost 2 points for a winning lot.

Notable augmented gear is to be announced before opening the chest. It may then be /randomed for and obtained free of point loss by the winning random. There will be no bum rushing for chest loot.

A list is kept for folks waiting in line to chest leech. If you would like do chests, contact any of our sackholders to be added to this list.

Use the forums!

The forums are a great tool for connecting with other members and planning events. Check in frequently, as we will outline events here. You may also utilize it to organize help for NMs that can be done with fewer people, or to work on missions you may need to obtain certain Atma.

These rules are subject to and likely to change as we learn more about Abyssea and what works for our Linkshell. Any changes will be announced in reply to this thread.

Introducing Priority 5:

Priority 5

Expanding on Priority 5:

Once you've attained an item from your priority list, you may not replace it with another until you've attended three more events. In addition, items on your priority list cannot be changed once put there until obtained or otherwise removed from your wishlist entirely.

Upgrade items for AF3+2 are automatically prioritized for members who have completed their +1 item in addition to their Priority 5 list, as long as it's made a note of in the member's wishlist.

Clarification on dual boxers, as we're privileged enough to have a few people with some very useful mules. ^^

Dual-boxing players will receive one separate point set for their mules, and a separate wishlist for said mules. Mules may only wishlist items they can use on their job, and only one character per player may lot on a drop pool unless specified otherwise.

Some refinements and clarification on how your event points are decided. As of tonight, points are rewarded to folks providing us with T2-3 VNM abyssites to work with as follows. If you have a VNM pop for a zone we're doing, let us know in the event thread prior to the run and we will make time for it.

- 3 points for providing us with a full key item popset completed on your own.

Some further alt-character rules that we've been practicing awhile which I hadn't updated yet. x.x

Alt-characters may not prioritize seals, and they may not partake in a bid war against another player's main for a priority. An unattending alt may only be swapped in to lot if they are the sole priority wishlister for that item unless specified otherwise by a sack.

As per recent adjustments made in the version update:

- AF3 feet base items no longer cost points. They are free lot to anyone who may use them.
- Drops from roaming NMs in Visions areas cost a flat 5 points.
- Level 85 requirement to join a Heroes event.

We are currently awaiting information on spawn conditions for Cutarae before adjusting point costs for their items.

We will now award up to two additional people a point for ASSISTING in attaining a key item trigger during off LS hours that we use - rather than only the key item holder. This also applies to T3 VNMs - but not T2.

If, say, Casey, Bummage, and Teylana gather a popset for Sobek or an abyssite for Ruminator they would each get 3 points rather than just Casey who held the set.

Please be honest about this - we're trying to be fair for everyone involved. But if things get fishy we may call for proof of each player's involvement so be prepared with some screenshots!
